sample (textileworking: weaving); textile

10 identical rectangular samples of tabby-woven, cotton and silk fibre textile. A single selvedge at the narrow end. Seemingly taken from a piece of cloth with a blue centre panel divided by paired stripes and bands. The orange border is divided by a narrow blue stripe close to either edge, creating narrow orange stripes along both sides. The stripe between the main border and the panel is patterned with a reciprocal dentate pattern in orange (from the border) and blue (from the panel). The 2 sets of discontinuously woven weft are interlaced to create this pattern.
