Carrying basket made of plant material. The basket is rising from a square base from the corners of which rise uprights, circular in section at the bottom, where they form feet, but cut to a tapering split above where they are woven into the fabric of the basket. Underneath are supporting canes formed into a cross and attached to the corner supports with looped lengths of split cane. There is a plain weave of natural undyed bamboo splits, widely and evenly spaced on the base, the weft closer together on the sides. At the shoulder is a cane hoop looped to the main fabric, from where the basket narrows to the mouth. A lid of similar construction to the base sits on the shoulder, with crossed canes on the top. A vegetal fibre cord connects the basket and lid through integral loops at the front and back.
