Lidded basket of cylindrical form, made of single-rod coiled rattan with cane stitches. The lid has a brass ring mounted on the central top and is flanked by two brass arched handles, attached to the upper body with two brass ring handles. A brass plate with ruyi-shaped tip is attached to the front of the lid, with one large and one small perforated rectangular hole. It also has a flexible hook for securing with a loop, which is attached to the large brass plate riveted onto the front of the body. A maker's mark impressed on the underside of the ruyi-shaped brass plate, 'guang lai'.
