basket (containers)

Basket with an oval wooden base, and a body and attached lid made of woven plant fibre. The plant fibre on the main body and lid is patterned with chevron patterns in bands of black and natural. There are ornate metal brackets at the front and back which attach the lid and the base together. The back bracket is hinged and the front bracket has a lock, covered by a piece of metal. At each side of the basket is a metal hook which attaches to a small metal loop on the lid. In the centre of the lid is a metal plate with a handle.
