box (containers)

Circular turned wooden box decorated with animals within borders. Each animal is surrounded by a number of flowers. Between each border are further animals. Included in the decoration are dogs, fowl, possibly rabbits, deer and a fox. These have all been painted directly on the wood in black outslines and finished with a layer or varnish. There is a band of black around the bottom, containing red flowers with four petals. This has been etched into the surface of the black paint, revealing the red beneath. The inside has been painted green with a red rim.
