Cylindrical wooden box with a lid, lacquered in black and red. There are bands of patterning, varying in width. The design varies between circular patterns, and a floral design. The base of the container shows signs of manufacture, having been turned. The outside of the opening of the box is lacquered in red, the inside in green. Metal thread has been inlaid in small circles to create further decoration. The lid is round with a flat top. Similarly to the box, it is lacquered in black and red, in both circular and floral designs. A carved disk of ivory with a pin was attached to the centre of the lid, but has since become detached.
