Sword guard, tsuba, round but slightly lobed (Maru gata). Two apertures (Nakago-ana, Kozuka Hitsu-ana). Another aperture (Kagai Hitsu-ana) has been filled with metal. On one side is depicted a snail at bottom right and a radial pattern, suggestive of the underside of a mushroom. There are two hollows in top right and left. Radial pattern on reverse. 700h x 670w.
