Lacquered wooden writing case, rectangular but with rounded ends and rounded top. Box is in the form of a tray over which a sheath slides, the tray having an attached outer cover at one end which fits together with the sliding sheath. The inner part has a band of flowers painted on a yellow background on both long sides. The outer sheath is lacquered in red and painted with golden flowers with birds among the flowers. The underside is decorated with groups of four dots in a pattern over a yellow background, with a green line running around the edge.
