game board

'Geographical Pastime' game board, consisting of a folding paper board backed onto textile, which was originally stored in a cardboard slipcase (nn16160iii). The game is called 'Wallis's New Geographical Game Exhibiting a Tour through Europe' on the slipcase. The board consists of a map of Europe, with places marked with numbers, which correspond to descriptions of these places in the accompanying booklet (nn16160ii). The aim of the game is to travel across Europe by rolling a die and moving a counter to the corresponding place on the board. With each turn, the players roll the die and add the number on the die to their existing total, with the first player to reach 102 landing on London and winning the game.
