
Wooden mangle board with carved decoration on one surface, smooth on the other, working, surface. Formed of a long rectangular plank, wider at one end than the other. At the wide end, three semi-circular notches are cut out. The narrrow end has a single projection below which on the reverse is embedded a piece of metal, the remains of a broken cup holder which was preumably used to hang the board for display. Decorative border around the edge and between six circular motifs which form the main decoration on the carved surface; inscribed towards the narrow end '17 ACP 60', presumably the date 1760 and the initials of the carver or recipient.
