Carved wooden figure of a god, Daikoku-Sama. (One of the 7 lucky gods). He wears a loose floppy flat hat. Standing on two rice bales and holding a mallet in his right hand which he shakes to spread wealth and good fortune. In his other hand he carries a sack over his shoulder containing riches. He is a popular figure on New Year's Day.
