pipe (narcotics & intoxicants: smoking)

Pipe with a white porcelain bowl with a gold rim, an inscription in black on one side and a figure in blue and yellow robes holding a book, possibly a preacher or religious figure, on the other side. The stem is carved from horn and has a flexible section in the middle. The bowl is linked to the stem by means of two lengths of twined thread each ending in a tassel.
