North European sword. The iron hilt incorporates a decorated guard, knuckle-bow with baluster ornament, and a swollen bulbous pommel. The blade is struck with a short inscription, presumably the maker’s name. The wire bound wooden grip is missing.
Probably German or Netherlandish.
