[One of two] Raised wooden man's sandals, geta, with wood base, sole covered with strips of bamboo skin woven into three panels. Thongs (hanao) of rope covered with leather painted in a design, now faded, of house, mountain, tree and birds. One black character on the 'heel' of each shoes, literally meaning 'talk' but probably used by shop owner as a sign to distinguish from another pair. Nikkou style (commonly referred to as 'koma geta). Not worn underneath. 65h x 230l x 92w.
