One of a pair of raised sandals, men's. Sole made of one piece of wood carved to follow roughly the outlines and contours of the foot, curving upwards slightly at front and back. Four grooves around the edge of each. Leather strap secured with nails below the sandal, sitting above between the toes. Behind this the leather strap divides to either side of the foot and is secured at the reaer above the sole with nails and a leather patch above. The underside of the sandal is carved to form a hollow at the centre, a heel at the back and two side supports. 'Burma' handwritten benetah in pencil by previous curator.
