Fan with six-lobed fan leaf made of green silk. Mounted on a cane frame with curved midrib, trimmed with brocade ribbon in honeycomb pattern, attached to a carved wooden handle with ivory finials and carved with alternating bat and lingzhi fungus designs. An appliqué lobed medallion of peach-coloured silk on the central bottom of the obverse leaf, decorated with appliqué peony, scrolling foliage and fret pattern, bordered by scrolling brackets. The medallion on the reverse leaf is missing. The midrib is mounted on either side with ruyi-shaped gilt metal in repoussé. The kesi fan leaf has a woven design of bamboo, plum blossom branches and two swallows. Bamboo together with plum blossom symbolises the unity of husband and wife, while two swallows denote an ideal relationship. In combination, the design represents marital bliss.
