Turned and carved tankard with burwood body, hinged lid and handle on three feet in the shape of crouching animals. On the top of the lid is a central carved decoration of vegetal form within incised concentric incisions possibly representing the royal lion of Norway. Around the body are narrow bands of horizontal incisions.The lid has a thumb lift in the shape of a lion. A carved rosette on the outside of the hinge pin above the handle, which has carved notches along both edges.
