Samurai walking-out hat, jingasa. Made of black lacquer applied to a base, possibly made of canvas. The mon or crest is that of the Kusunoki clan. There is a warrior emblem -a design of a sword - on the crown of the hat, and the sides are decorated with leaves and flowers. The inside of the hat is red lacquer. The lining of the hat has gone, but there are four leather loops in the sides for the lining, and cords for tying. There are seven pierced rivets inside to which a cloth neck protector can be tied. This is an ordinary hat for a Samurai.
