Headdress of cassowary feathers arranged in a raft and secured together by a band of coarse plain bark cloth which is folded over the end of the quills. This is stitched at regular intervals through both sides of the cloth and also has a running stitch throughout. The cords for tying on are plaited from a coarse bark fibre string and there is a central gap in the headdress where a plume of Bird of Paradise feathers was previously inserted but has now largely deteriorated and fallen apart.
