

Gilt bronze figure of seated Guanyin, Bodhisattva of compassion. She is depicted seated in a lotus position, padmasana, with legs folded, feet crossed and soles upwards. Her right hand is raised with the palm facing outward, in the gesture of fearlessness, abhaya mudra, while her left hand with the palm open and facing forward is held in the gesture of giving, varada mudra. She wears jewellery and a draped robe that covers both shoulders embellished with a pattern of incised scrolls at the hem. A miniature Buddha statue is placed in front of the topknot tied on top of her head.
