Narrow but tall headdress of cassowary feathers secured together in a row by a rafting technique of knots in bark fibre string. Between the two rows of knots a short length of the quills is painted with a white chalky paint and the knots themselves a of cassowary feathers re painted red. In the centre of the headdress there is a plume of 6 pale orange bird of paradise feathers, heavily deteriorated and two trimmed white feathers
