Gilt bronze statue of Tibetan goddess Tara (White Tara), with removeable headdress. Seated on an incised lotus pedestal, legs crossed in full lotus position, soles of feet turned upwards. Right hand extended downward, palm out, resting on right knee in gesture of compassion. Left hand held up in gesture of teaching: tips of thumb and index finger touching. Palms and soles incised with eyes. Flowing princely robes and scarves, elaborate jewellery and crown, elongated earlobes, unclothed above waist, rounded belly. Separate string surrounding the body, held by left hand, green lotus vine rising from the string next to left arm. Facial features and hair painted, third eye on the forehead.
