One of a pair of small, model, Japanese wooden open shoes (geta). Representing the type worn in wet weather by both men and women. The model has a paper cover, simulating leather, at front, protecting the feet from rain and snow. Each shoe is raised up on two tall struts and has a green elastic cord, simulating the hanao straps.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
