Metal needle fancy, or needle container, in the shape of a cradle with a hinged lid. The surface of the cradle is textured to replicate curtains, a basket and a blanket. The cradle is set on the stand on pivots so that it can be rocked. Although it was used in a doll's house it was intended originally as a needle container. The design was patented in 1875.
