Carved wooden netsuke in the form of a study of a woman. She is seated with her left knee drawn up and holding in her left hand a large closed fan which rests on her left shoulder. Her right hand rests by her side. Her right leg extends in front of her and both feet are bare. She has very long hair which is formed into a fringe at the front and which reaches right down her back; she is sitting on the end. Number 28 on base.
