bag (land transport: human powered)

Bag of white felt with applied bands of black cotton (?) embroidered with wool; probably made from part of a dress, from the sleeve or a decorative band above the hem. 270 h x 240 wide without cords.

Bags of this size and shape are not a normal part of daily life in the Balkans nor are they used as an accessory with traditional or festival dress. In all likelihood this has been recycled from a garment, probably a dress, possibly for the tourist market or because it suited the taste of some-one in the original family.
