Stirrup, abumi, made of steel inlaid with brass wires in pattern of mon. Red lacquer on the inside, deteriorated. Simple Momayama style decoration on underside, repaired several times, but use of mon is Edo style, so has probably been made to evoke Momoyama period. Similar style to nn5654.4 but different decorative pattern, so not one of a pair, though includes the same family crest. Maybe an old stirrup redecorated in 19th century.
