


Wooden mould. Carving on obverse represents a large sailing ship, with figures and three masts. Flag of ship spells 'NICOLAA' (the maker may have run out of space to complete the name 'Nicolaas'. Carving on the reverse represents Sinterklaas (Santa Claus) on horseback riding across the rooftops of a town. In Dutch tradition, Sinterklaas travels form Spain by ship.
