A warm welcome to the beautiful Horniman Gardens. In this relaxed audio trail, you can travel the Gardens at your own pace, explore wherever you’d like, and do some simple activities along the way to help improve your sense of wellbeing and peace.
There are so many areas of the Horniman Gardens to explore, filled with trees, plants, animals and landscapes. Spending time in nature has been shown to improve mental health and wellbeing, and allows us to slow down and take a moment away from the pressures of life.
We created this trail to gently guide you in your exploration of the Gardens, with some optional activities which we have found useful ourselves. You can pause, rewind or resume the trail at any point. We hope you enjoy the experience.
This trail talks about the history of the Horniman.

This trail is part of collaborative project between the Horniman Museum and Gardens, South London and Maudsley NHS Trust Recovery College and the Lewisham Creative Futures Programme. It was created by a group of local people who came together for two months to spend time in nature and learn about the benefits for the planet and their personal wellbeing.
