Kusuma Trust awards £500,000 to Nature + Love

We are extremely grateful to Kusuma Trust for their grant of £500,000 to support our Nature + Love project and help us bring our plans to reality.

The grant follows on from previous support for the Horniman’s micro forest, which was planted in 2022.

Kusuma Trust is a family led philanthropic trust established in 2010. The Trust gives grants to organisations based on shared values and mutual interests in the UK, Gibraltar and India. Its current areas of interest are creating access to opportunities, improving health and well-being, and investing in local communities and the environment

A new nature themed play area will sit next to a cafe

Their generous funding for Nature + Love will go towards the development of Kusuma Nature Play, an exciting new nature-themed play area, and improved access to the Horniman Nature Trail. Complete with a café and new facilities, Kusuma Nature Play will offer an engaging space for families to encourage learning and wellbeing through nature and play.

Thank you to Kusuma Trust for their generous grant towards our transformational project Nature + Love. Their support will ensure even more people can access and enjoy nature at the Horniman. We can’t wait to see the Kusuma Nature Play area brought to life in 2026, and full of families engaging with the natural world around them.
