Inlaid ebony box with a hinged lid and a small key. The box is octagonal with two long sides, two hinges and a metal lock. On each side and the top is a carved panel with a vegetal design in relief. The lid has at the centre a design of a dome roofed building.The top and sides are decorated with borders inlaid with ivory, white metal, ebony and green and brown stone or coloured bone arranged in geometric patterns. The key is made of iron alloy and is silver in colour. The bit is shaped and the cylindrical shaft has incised lines near the top. The bow is oval and is slightly shaped on the inner edge.
