321.321-71 Necked bowl lutes sounded by bowing with a bow

Traskofiol, clog fiddle. Made from the lower part of a wooden shoe, topped with a pine belly that overhangs the sides and follows the shaped of the shoe. Two f-shaped sound-holes. No sound-post, but a bar that passes along the length of the belly. A neck and block in one piece is set into the heel of the shoe, and terminates in a neat scroll. Two of the pegs appear to be replacements. Two pegs, fingerboard and tailpiece of light wood stained black. Evidence of wire decoration along the sides of the shoe in its original state. One crack at the toe end, one at the heel. In ink on the heel: Frä skon har / tillhört / Johannes Nilsson / Hörröd / Tillverhad av / Erik Blomquist / Ballingstöv.
