Turned wooden box with engraved floral decoration in horizontal bands all over the outer surface. The decoration in the main panel is dominated by cuspid and lobed arches, with a flower vase within each, surrounded by scrolling floral designs. The box was lacquered in red first, then in black, and the designs achieved by engraving in the lacquer. Plain red lacquer on the interior.
