Circular brass container with a lid. The container is decorated with repousse technique, chased and engraved in three main sections. There is a horizontal band around the top of the body, of acanthus leaves. The wider central band is a scrolling floral motif. Below this is a band of lotus petals. The rim around the opening has a design of diagonal ridges in imitation of a rope. Two S-shaped handles, one at each side of the container in the form of a hooded cobra. The lid has a finial in the shape of a crowned Lord Ganesha carrying his attributes and seated on a lotus pedestal; the rosary is movable. Below this is a band of acanthus leaves.
